October update

In mid-September we enjoyed the hospitality of RAF Brize Norton at their families day and of course the RAF Scampton airshow which, given that the weather didn't play nicely served to pull a metaphorically damp curtain down on our show season, . We also provided our Sharks aircraft for a static display at HMS Daedalus.

We are now looking forward to a winter of training and giving our airframes a deep clean and the TLC that they deserve.

Aircrew training will include a programme aimed at securing display authorisations for another 3-4 pilots, a process which sees our aircrews assesed by the CAA and which qualifies them to display the Gazelle at public events. In addition many of the pilots will be doing their annual flight tests on the Gazelle to ensure that they maintain their proficiency. Our mandatory training which everyone in the Squadron must attend includes refresher sessions in aircraft handling and First Aid.

Next year's programme is already starting to take shape, so if you're organising an event and would like us to attend please feel free to contact us with the details and we will give it our full consideration.

Our charity work continues and we will at some stage be fitting our long range ferry tanks to one of the aircraft in preparation for the long journey North to collect and deliver Father Christmas to see the children at Julia's House and Naomi House our chosen charities.

The show goes on, so please follow us on Facebook or Twitter
